Brookhaven Chronicles Episode 012 - Mr. DHP Goes to New York

Brookhaven Chronicles Episode #012 - Mr. DHP Goes to New York

    Listen:

This episode marks the end of an era, specifically the end of the Brookhaven/Creepy Sleepy alliance in the Domain of Spearfish. This is because at this point, Creepy Sleepy relocated to New York, where DHP got a job with Talk Radio News. Nonetheless, Brookhaven has continued to enjoy a more or less amicable working relationship with Creepy Sleepy, despite the vast distances not only in miles, but also in content. DHP left some very big shoes to fill, and I can only hope that in some small way, Brookhaven has stepped up to the plate and risen to the challenge.

    On with the show notes.

    Show Notes:

    1. Opening Saga, Pt. 2

    • If you don't know by now, I'm certainly not going to say it again...

    2. Song #1 - "Juggalo Family" - Dark Lotus (This time for real)

    3. Talkset #1

    • Raspy bitches about the insubordination of Willard Willard. Then, he touches on the subject of DHP of Creepy Sleepy's move to New York, and the legacy of the Creepy Sleepy Show and its influence on the formation and development of the Brookhaven Chronicles.

    4. Song #2 - "I Shot Lucifer" - Bionic Jive

    • Album: Armageddon Through Your Speakers (Interscope)

    5. Underwriting Grant - "MOD Insurance Agency"

    • Sun Dula, Tubba Butta, and Joe Francis offer to "take care" of your "problems" for you.

    6. Promo - "Zerosumcosmos.com"

    • Zero Sum Cosmos! Come on!

    7. Sweeper - "Voicemail"

    • Yes, Curtis. I know I'm listening to brookhavenchronicles.com. Thanks for the info.

    8. Song #3 - "Freedom: Last Cell Remix (Creepy Sleepy Version) - Paris feat. Dead Prez & Public Enemy

    9. Talkset #2

    • Raspy talks himself up. Which is funny, because at this point, he totally had only done 12 shows. He mistakenly refers to the preceding song as the "DJ Raspy edit" but that's not true. Because he has since remembered that Creepy Sleepy played the song in that same way several months prior. Sorry about the mix up, guys! Raspy also bitches about Myspace, which is nothing new, believe me. Also, DHP shows up, making his last live appearance on the show before his move to New York.

    10. Song #4 - "Politricks" - Akir

    11. Talkset #3

    • Raspy attempts to introduce a new segment, a funny-news segment. It doesn't go down very well. Raspy afterwards decided to leave funny news to people who are way better at it. Like Dennis Miller. Or the Cable News channels. Ever watch that shit? That shit is so absurd that it's f'n hillarious!

    12. Underwriting Grant - "Hickmart"

    • Where can you go to fix your truck, buy beer for nascar season, and get brass knuckles to "chastise" your wife? Hickmart! Really, Y'all!

    13. Closing Talkset

    • Raspy talks about inheriting all Dan's stuff. We inherited Curtis' stuff too, when HE left. Should probably open up a consignment store or something. :p Finally, Raspy promises that on Episode 13, the Brookhaven crew WILL interview Satan himself. Don't miss that one!

    14. Song #5 - "Time's Scar" - Yasunori Mitsuda

    • Album: Chrono Cross Original Sound Track (Square/Enix)
